We welcome couples who would like to celebrate all, or any part of their day at the Museum, being fully licensed for civil ceremonies, wedding breakfasts and evening receptions.

We only ever hold one wedding per day to ensure that you receive a unique service. Your dedicated wedding co-ordinator will support you throughout your planning and will be there for you throughout your special day. You can enjoy complimentary admission to the Museum from your date of booking until your first anniversary.

The Bowes Museum is an impressive venue for a wide range of business events, combining a peaceful historic setting with fully accessible modern meeting facilities, well located, close to the A66 and A1.

Choose from a range of beautiful spaces for 10 to 240 guests, providing the perfect settings for all business events including conferences, training and rewards and recognition events. All guests are welcome to explore the museum throughout the day, so you can make the most of your time out of the office, returning refreshed and inspired. We can arrange tours, practical activities in the museum and grounds and exclusive ‘behind the scenes' experiences to help you have fun and harness your team's creativity.
